Langley, BC - Langley Fly-in 2013 - Women and Wings

Saturday, June 22nd, 2013

Langley Fly-in 2013 - WOMEN AND WINGS The Langley Aero Club/COPA Flight 175 is celebrating 100 years of women flying in Canada. On July 31, 1913, Alys Mckey Bryant flew a demonstration flight for Prince Albert, the future King George VI while he was visiting Vancouver.  This is the first recorded flight by a licensed woman pilot in Canada. The 2013 Langley Fly-in will celebrate all women in aviation with special door prizes, raffles, and presentations for the ladies. The Fly-in will also celebrate Langley Airport's 75th birthday with additional door prizes and raffles. We again have our silent auction, vendors' booths, forums tent, and our kitchen--with chilli, hot dogs, refreshments and our famous Langley Homemade Pies. Come join us at Langley Airport CYNJ on June 22nd from 9am to 3pm. More info at: www.langleyaeroclub.ca

PENTICTON, BC - COPA Flight 50 FLY IN AND PIG ROAST

Saturday, August 17th, 2013

PFC is hosting a PIG ROAST Aug 17 th 2013 . Come and visit with pilots and flying friends from around BC and Alberta

We shall have a Friday evening get together at the club house for those of you who come early and of course there will be a Bar.

There are some camping spots or you can use the Club House. Breakfast in the AM will be in Oliver B.C. a few miles south of Penticton. They hold a great annual breakfast Fly-In and we are co-ordinating with them. So breakfast in Oliver , a light lunch in Penticton at noon and the Roast Pig Dinner starts at 17:30 - 18:00 hours. If you are not partial to Roast Pig we will have a little lamb on the spit also.

We have a few organized activities, some yet to be confirmed, but will have Bocce and Croquet equipment available for do it yourself competitions. Skaha Beach is a short walk away and we guarantee nice weather. There are tennis courts close to the Airport as well. There is a nine hole golf course within easy walking distance. It’s fire season in Penticton in August and it’s always fun to watch and listen to the Electra perform. We may be able to tour the Air Spray tanker and base, fire permitting. We are working on YYF tower visit, also a tour of the new HNZ Helicopter Hanger. There is a Beaver rebuild in progress and a home built Mustang project to check out. The most entertaining event will surely be watching our neophyte cooks try to roast a pig and lamb stuffed with fruit and veggies on a spit.

This is a laid back, suck up the sun, have a drink and of course very good food event similar to our previous T-Craft and tail dragger Fly Ins.

Hope you can visit with us. Pres Larry Taylor 250-492-0488 or Herb Clapham 250-492-6373 Larry at: maranda.rdv.gmail.com, Herb: herbclapham@shaw.ca
